NHCCE 2025 KICKS OFF AS ASEAN’S PREMIER PLATFORM FOR HUMAN CAPITAL AND SKILLS TRANSFORMATION

Southeast Asia’s premier human capital development platform returns with global futurists, thought leaders and industry champions shaping the future of work

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 October 2025 – The National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE) 2025 was launched today at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), cementing its stature as Southeast Asia’s largest human capital conference. The programme demonstrates Malaysia’s leadership in advancing the region’s upskilling and reskilling agenda to build a future-ready workforce.

The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Mr. Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources and accompanied by Datuk Abu Huraira bin Abu Yazid, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) and Dr. Syed Alwi bin Mohamed Sultan, Chief Executive, HRD Corp.

Anchored by the theme ‘Navigating Human Capital Revolution’, NHCCE 2025 explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and disruptive technologies can transform workplaces while promoting inclusivity, resilience and human connection.

Datuk Abu Huraira said, “The event reflects Malaysia’s growing leadership in advancing regional human capital priorities”.

“NHCCE has become a hallmark of Malaysia’s human capital agenda and now extends beyond our borders. This platform allows us to share insights, forge partnerships and drive meaningful action to prepare ASEAN’s workforce for the future”, he added.

YB Mr. Steven Sim, in his speech highlighted that since 2023, HRD Corp has collected a total of RM6.17 billion in levy contributions, of which RM5.77 billion (almost 94%) has been spent on training nearly four (4) million workers.

In addition, YB Mr. Steven Sim also announced that HRD Corp has successfully doubled the revenue generated from NHCCE compared to the previous year, recording a surplus of RM1 million, up from RM500,000 in 2024. The surplus from NHCCE 2025 will be reinvested into training programmes for gig economy workers across Malaysia.

“This decision follows the recent passing of the Gig Workers Bill 2025, which, for the first time, provides labour protection to millions of gig workers in Malaysia. This reflects the Government and HRD Corp’s commitment to ensuring that all segments of the workforce, including those in the gig economy, have equitable access to training and career advancement opportunities”, said YB Steven Sim.

“The gig economy has now become a major part of our national labour market. By investing in their upskilling, we are helping them transition into higher-skilled, better-paying roles, while ensuring Malaysia stays on track towards achieving a 35 per cent skilled workforce by 2030,” he added.

Held from 6 to 8 October 2025, NHCCE 2025 features 33 international and local speakers, including Dr. Michio Kaku, Sonny Bill Williams, Graeme Codrington, David Coulthard, Dato’ Sri Idris Jala and Datuk Nicol David, who will lead discussions on key areas such as future-ready workforce, sustainable business and economy, digital transformation and leadership; attracting approximately 3,000 delegates from Malaysia and abroad.

Beyond the conference, over 300 exhibitors are showcasing the latest innovations in human capital development, alongside networking sessions, masterclasses and the MYFutureJobs Career Fair by PERKESO.

The event was also attended by Dr. Hj. Mohd Shaharin bin Umar, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Human Resources (Policy and International) and Mr. Sutekno bin Ahmad Belon, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Human Resources (Operation).
