FOR LOGISTICS AND WAREHOUSING

The Industrial Skills Framework (IndSF) Unit, under the Development Department has successfully developed the HRD Corp Industrial Skills Framework (IndSF) for the Logistics and Warehousing Industry in 2021, in collaboration with the Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders (FMFF), Malaysian Institute of Freight Forwarders (MIFF), Selangor Logistics and Freight Forwarders Association (SFFLA) and International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The first edition of the IndSF for Logistics and Warehousing comprises three (3) focus areas:

Sea Freight:
Customs Brokerage & Freighting
Air Freight:
Customs Brokerage & Freighting
Air Cargo

This document covers a total of 67 job positions with 27 listed under both Sea and Air Freight and another 40 under Air Cargo only.

The freight and logistics industry is an important pillar of the national economy. Freight forwarders have played a crucial role in supply chain operations within the industry. These include facilitating coordination and arrangement with various logistics providers and agencies.

Therefore, the development of the Industry Skills Framework (IndSF) in the Logistics and Warehousing Industry by HRD Corp will set the stage in identifying current in-demand skills within the industry and upskilling the workforce according to the recommended training programmes as suggested by industry experts. Future IndSF are expected to include road and railway logistics to provide a comprehensive guide on talent demands and training requirements within the industry.
