HRD AWARDS 2024 UNITES RISING AND REIGNING STARS OF MALAYSIA’S HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

The night of celebration witnessed human resources trailblazers emerging as champions and top performers in their respective categories

Kuala Lumpur, 7 November 2024 – The HRD Awards 2024 Gala Dinner, hosted by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) tonight, brought together Malaysia’s leading employers, training providers and trainers in a celebration of excellence in human capital development.

Some of the winners of the night include Abbott Penang, Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd, Bermaz Motor and Microsoft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

The prestigious event was graced by the presence of YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusuf, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation.

Since its inception in 2001, the HRD Awards has grown in stature, establishing itself as a premier platform recognising exceptional contributions in the human resource development sector. This year, the HRD Awards recorded the highest number of submissions, 493, which is a significant rise from the 369 submissions in 2023.

At the HRD Awards 2024 Gala Dinner, 36 awards were presented to exemplary organisations, training providers, and trainers across four award categories: the Human Resources Minister Award, the Human Resource Development Corporation Award, the Excellence Awards, and the Special Recognition Award in Learning and Development. These awards underscored Malaysia’s commitment to fostering world-class talent development.

The winners were meticulously evaluated by 14 esteemed judges, comprising eight senior HRD Corp leaders and six external industry experts representing key sectors and organisations, namely Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp), Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), The National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC).

The rigorous evaluation process encompassed three stages: a preliminary review by the HRD Corp Evaluation Team, internal and external panellist reviews and onsite evaluations at the finalists’ premises. This thorough assessment ensured the highest standards of transparency, accuracy, and integrity in selecting the winners.

The event also witnessed the attendance of Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof, Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources; Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid, Chairman of HRD Corp, and Datuk Wira Shahul Dawood, Chief Executive of HRD Corp.
