DEVELOPMENT OF IndSF DOCUMENT

The IndSF for Food & Beverages was successfully developed in 2022 by HRD Corp’s Industrial Skills Framework (IndSF) Unit in collaboration with the Malaysian Food Manufacturing Group (MAFMAG) – a subdivision under the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) – and Ayamas Food Corporation Sdn Bhd.

The first edition of the IndSF for Food & Beverages covers four (4) focus areas in the food manufacturing industry:

F&B Production
Halal
Research & Development
Quality Assurance
21 job positions across the four focus areas were identified and included in this document. This covers 122 technical skills, 112 soft skills and 51 certification programmes. The F&B field in Malaysia is a fast-growing industry that is significantly contributing to the national economy. HRD Corp sees the critical need to develop an IndSF document for the food manufacturing industry due to its huge growth potential.

Structured talent development is needed through guided training programmes to ensure the industry’s future sustainability. The kick-off of this initiative last January 2022 and its completion in December 2022 marks the first step towards fulfilling the skill demands required by the food manufacturing industry.

This document features four (4) core components within the industry:

Sectoral information
Career pathways
Jobs and skills description
Recommended training programmes
