HRD CORP SIGNS A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH EMIRATES AVIATION UNIVERSITY (EAU)

Agency’s first international collaboration to spark greater training and skills development efforts for Malaysia’s aviation industry

Kuala Lumpur, 22 October 2021 – The Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Emirates Aviation University (EAU), to develop skills and talents for the aviation industry in Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Through the partnership, HRD Corp and EAU will commit to knowledge sharing and transfer within the aviation industry. This includes developing aviation-related courses and academic programmes that will be applicable in both countries. The parties will also work on research and development projects to benefit the aviation sector in Malaysia and the Middle East, in the long term.

The MOU was signed at the EAU campus in the Dubai International Academic City, by Datuk Shahul Dawood, the Chief Executive of HRD Corp and Professor Ahmad Al Ali, Vice-Chancellor of EAU, and witnessed by Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, Minister of Human Resources Malaysia and Mr. Robert Johnson, Partnership Manager of EAU.

This is HRD Corp’s first international collaboration of-its-kind since its establishment in 1993. It also marks a new chapter for the organisation, following its rebranding from Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) this year, as it moves towards greater internationalisation for the benefit of its registered employers, employees, and training providers.

Through such partnerships, HRD Corp will be able to offer a wider range of training and development programmes from across the world to its registered employers. This is particularly the case for highly specialised and niche programmes that may not be available locally. At the same time, such collaborations will also open up more markets to HRD Corp’s training providers, as they can now offer their courses to trainees and organisations abroad. Beyond that, HRD Corp will also be able to benchmark Malaysia’s talent development efforts against successful organisations, and governments around the world.

The partnership with the Emirates Aviation University (EAU) is a great start to HRD Corp’s efforts of realising such ambitious goals. EAU is the Middle East’s leading educational institution for aeronautical engineering, aviation management, business management, aviation safety and security studies. It offers a wide range of postgraduate, undergraduate, foundation, diploma, and professional certification courses in these critical areas.
